Let us first start with the introduction of FSSAI, the full form of FSSAI is Food Safety and Standards Authority of India, and the Ministry of India creates this organization with the help of which they want to get rid of every problem related to food safety and standards.

The main reason behind the introduction of this authority is that with the help of this organization, maintained the flow of food production with proper standards could be managed efficiently and moreover as this organization was introduced in 2006. Till now, they have done a fabulous job and maintained a good workflow.

This was all about a general introduction of FSSAI, let us now take this one step ahead and start our discussion about FSSAI license and registration.

The primary usage of FSSAI license is for those who have a Food Business Organization in which the production of various food items take place. This FSSAI license is distributed in three different parts, let us have a look at all three of them-

  • The first one is Basic FSSAI license, and this license is for those who are having a food production unit with a turnover of Rs- 12 lac per annum. Make sure that you are applying for the right FSSAI license, and if they found any problem in your application, then you can even get rejected. Let us have a look at the documents you should have while registering for such FSSAI license-
  • The first requirement is a full filled Form B which should be signed by the applicant.
  • The second document requirement is the photo identity of FBO.
  • Proof of premises.
  • Partnership deed.
  • List of food products that your production unit will produce.
  • Food safety management system plan.
  • The second in the list is State FSSAI license, and in this case, those FBO’s are mentioned those have an annual turnover of in between Rs- 12 lac up to Rs- 20 Cr. Let us have a look at the documents you should require while applying for such FSSAI license.
  • The first requirement is a filled Form B, which should be signed by the applicant.
  • The second requirement is to have a complete plan with the help of which you could tell the area wise usage of your production unit.
  • List of directors or partners that are with you and started this production unit with their address, contact details and photo ID proofs.
  • A complete list of equipment and machinery that is being used in your production unit.
  • List of food items that are prepared in your production unit.
  • A nominee letter who can take the responsibility of production and this letter should be from the manufacturer.
  • Complete water usage report in which you have to tell the total water which is being used by you for the production purpose.
  • Proof of premises.
  • Partnership deed.
  • NOC from the manufacturer.
  • Copy of certificate from Coop Act 1861.
  • Food safety management plan.
  • The third and last type of FSSAI license is Central FSSAI license, and this is for those whose company’s turnover is more than Rs- 20 Cr annually. Let us have a look at the documents required for applying for such FSSAI license.
  • Form B completed and signed by the applicant.
  • Plan of processing unit in which everything is shown area-wise.
  • List of directors and partners with whom you started the production unit, with their address, contact details and photo ID proof.
  • List of equipment and machinery in your production unit.
  • List of food items created in your production unit.
  • A nominee letter from the manufacturer.
  • Water analysis report.
  • Source of raw material used in your production unit.
  • Recall Plan.
  • Ministry of commerce certificate.
  • NOC document issued by FSSAI.
  • IE code issued by DGFT.
  • Form lX.
  • Certificate from Ministry of tourism.
  • Proof of premises.
  • Partnership deed.
  • NOC from the manufacturer.
  • Food safety management plan.
  • NOC from the local body.
  • Proof of turnover.
  • Declaration form.
